Audra Karen

Audra Frank has been in the painting business for almost thirty years. Audra and David (her late husband) met at Janovic Plaza paint store in New York City. They fine tuned David's family painting business, renamed it Audra Frank Painting and it became a premiere painting company.  High-end residential and commercial was their specialty.

Audra's Clients: Meryl Streep, Lou Dobbs, George Soros, Keith Richards, Ian Schrager, Paul Simon, Sting, Comedy Central, Starbucks, Japan Airlines, Kaufman Astoria Studios, Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, American Pacific, Toll Brothers, Showtime Networks, Viacom, Dongia Associates, Fortunoff, Timberline, The Cloisters/ Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Stark Carpet Company

Everything changed in February 2004, when David was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It took his life in June, 2005. Audra then lost another relative to cancer. What is making us sick? She made it her mission to find safe products for everyday use in our environment. Starting with her industry she discovered paints, finishing products and cleaners that were safe to breathe and environmentally friendly. Traveling all over the country, Audra met with manufacturers to learn and use the products. Al Gore's speech on TV gave her the green light to move forward with her ideas and knowledge.

Karen Halo has been a business development and marketing director for the medical, real estate and banking industries. Involved with renovations, building, sales, marketing and health, she has been able to see the different impact each one has on our environment.  Her interest in "GREEN" started in college. Her Geology professor, Dr. Rockman (Rockman-Geology..you can't make this stuff up!) and her job at a health food store gave her a strong appreciation for eco-friendly and natural products early on.

After  installing a new, matched everything (toxic) broadloom carpet in her home, she wound up in the Emergency Room .  The doctor said the carpet chemicals and fresh paint,  triggered an asthma attack.  This started her quest to find out what we were putting in our home's and offices. Shortly after, she was part of a home building team for a Major Network Episode. The opportunity  to learn from the design team and vendors while putting green building principles in action, brought it all full circle for her.  Karen wanted to share what she had learned..

Karen likes emails, Audra likes phone calls. We both like dark chocolate. At this point we knew. Our goal to bring healthy, responsible products into homes and workplaces would now become our business... Frankly Green. Our affiliations include: ASIDIP, ICREW, NAIOP, NGPP, PDCA, ULI, USGBC
